The Jesuit Advancement Administrators (JAA) of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) is a professional organization of advancement professionals serving Jesuit higher education in the United States. Founded by Rev. J. Barry McGannon, S.J., at Saint Louis University in 1990, JAA became an official organization on June 21, 1991. JAA serves as a resource for professional development; provides an opportunity to share best practices in the industry; and acts as a network for the advancement of Jesuit higher education.

The goal of JAA is to bring together—in friendly relationship—the professional workers of organized advancement activities (development, fundraising, advancement marketing/communications, alumni relations, and advancement services) at all member institutions of the AJCU, where they may study to mutual advantage the philosophy and challenges of their work; improve their technical competence; and keep their professional advancement programs contemporary and ready to adapt and respond to new situations resulting from the changing needs of society.

Providing quality professional development and networking opportunities within a Jesuit context has long been a key priority for JAA. Each year, advancement professionals from Jesuit institutions of higher education gather to collaborate, study trends, and learn from one another. The annual conference provides an excellent occasion for members to discuss how the Catholic, Jesuit mission at their institutions makes them distinctive, attractive, and vital. This year, Georgetown University and Boston College are hosting the conference at Georgetown University from July 26-28, 2026.
